Type material

Proben des Holotypus die alle aus Spalten eines einzigen, ungewöhnlich großen (11 cm) Alabanditkristall von Simon Harrison extrahiert wurden (ursprünglich zugeordnete Nummern 3665 und 3666) befinden sich in den Sammlungen des Natural History Museum (London), A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum, das National Museum der Naturwissenschaften des Smithsonian Institution (katalogisiert unter NMNH 177015) und einer der Autoren (JAJ unter den Nummern 3665 und 3666). Die jenigen im Naturhistorischen Museum (London) sind unter BM 2016,100 katalogisiert und umfassen polierte Körner, die in einem Mikrosondenblock eingebettet sind, sowie isolierte Fragmente von "Barthaare", die für die kristallographischen, chemischen und optischen Studien verwendet werden. Jene im A. E. Seaman-Mineralmuseum (katalogisiert unter DM 31323, DM 31324 und DM 31325) umfassen polierte Abschnitte, die in Epoxidhülsen für optische Studien eingebettet sind, sowie eine kleine Gruppe von "Barthaare" mit Graphit. Die für die kristallographischen Röntgenuntersuchungen verwendeten Kristalle werden am Institut für Erdwissenschaften, Universität Florenz, Italien, aufbewahrt. Initiale Raman und chemische Untersuchungen wurden an einem Exemplar in der Sammlung der Smithsonian Institution (temporäre Forschungsnummer 3323, und nun auch unter NMNH 177015 katalogisiert) durchgeführt.
