Geology

Reichtum an Bodenschätzen - es wurden praktisch alle chem. Elemente in Usbekischer Erde gefunden. Heute sind über 2700 Lagerstätten und zukunftsträchtige Vorkommen der verschiedenen Bodenschätze nachgewiesen, von denen bereits mehr als 60 in die Produktion aufgenommen worden sind. Mehr als 900 Lagerstätten wurden erkundet, deren Vorräte mit 970 Milliarden US-Dollar beziffert werden. Das gesamte Mineral- und Rohstoffpotential wird auf mehr als 3,3 Trillionen US-Dollar geschätzt wird.

Von solch strategisch wichtigen Ressourcen, wie Erdöl und Erdgas, wurden 155 lohnende Vorkommen entdeckt, von Edelmetallen über 40, von Buntmetallen und radioaktiven Metallen 40 und von bergbauchemischen Rohstoffen 15 Vorkommen. In Usbekistan sind Lagerstätten mit 287.580 t U bekannt, davon 246.755 t U in Sandstein.
